Today people mourn over unthinkable tragedy In Connecticut. For the loved ones, who lost a child or family member, the tears will never dry, completely, in this world.
News analyst and others are looking for answers, but I am afraid not in the right places. The President, New York Mayor, Sen. Feinstein, and so many others have alluded to the idea that we, through our various means, can somehow remedy and prevent most of these massacres. Of course, many of their measures deserve support by Congress and the American people. But, there are deeper reasons, that few seem to dare to explore, and virtually none on the public stage. You see, we had very few of these massacres in the first three-quarters of the 20th century. Yet, there was an abundance of weaponry, and more opportunity for a deranged individual to due harm. So why? Why the last 35 years or so? People have changed! There is less internal restraints. A secular nation, which we are becoming, commands a price. Too often, the innocent has to pay. |
